What access do you still have?
If a normal authorized entrance still works, mention it. If all entry is blocked, say whether a working key is inside or missing. Our residential lock information helps separate access from ongoing lock care. You do not have to diagnose the mechanism; explain the last normal action and what changed, such as a key that suddenly no longer turns.
When a rekey fits the goal
Rekeying may suit an existing compatible lock that works properly when your concern is who holds copies. Count the locks you want included, including any side or garage-entry door. If a lock is loose, damaged or hard to operate, include that condition in the request. Having one new key is useful only when the relevant doors also work reliably.
The overhead door is different
If the garage door stops or sits at an angle, describe that as a garage repair request, rather than a house lockout. Note the stopped position and whether there was an unusual sound. Keep clear of a door that looks unstable, and do not adjust springs, cables or brackets. A remote that fails while a door otherwise works is another useful distinction.
Give the home its own address
Village Green Park on Hall Street is a recognizable Powell reference, but a nearby destination does not identify a house or a garage. Call with the complete property address and describe the relevant entrance. If a car is involved after an outing, use the location where it is actually parked. The location guide keeps the landmark, property and requested access point clear.
